Family support
Families are part of recovery
With consent, family involvement is structured rather than informal: psychoeducation, guidance on boundaries and communication, and scheduled reviews with the clinical team. Caregiver wellbeing matters clinically, and we address it openly as part of the care plan.
- Psychoeducation sessions for families and caregivers
- Structured family reviews with the clinical team, where consent is given
- Practical guidance on boundaries, communication and crisis planning
- Support in preparing the home environment for discharge

Addiction & recovery
The structured recovery pathway
For addiction care, the pathway has six defined stages, each with clinical goals and review points.
- 01
Assessment
Medical, psychological and social review, including risk and physical health.
- 02
Treatment planning
A written plan with defined goals, components, duration and review points.
- 03
Stabilisation
Medically supervised stabilisation in a safe environment.
- 04
Rehabilitation
Routine, skills, relationships, occupation and relapse prevention.
- 05
Family support
Psychoeducation, communication and support for families.
- 06
Continuing care
Ongoing review, relapse prevention and coordinated aftercare.
Aftercare
Continuing care after discharge
Discharge is a transition, not an ending. Every episode concludes with a written continuing-care plan agreed with you and, with consent, your family.
- Scheduled outpatient review appointments
- Relapse-prevention strategies and early-warning signs
- Ongoing psychological therapy where indicated
- Clear routes back into services if difficulties re-emerge
- Coordination with your referring doctor or local clinician
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
If your question is not answered here, our care coordination team can help.
Do I need a referral to be seen at Ciba?
Contact us directly to arrange an assessment. Referrals from doctors, therapists, schools and organisations are also welcome.
What happens at a first assessment?
A clinician takes a full history, reviews risk, explains the findings, and agrees next steps with you — which may include further assessment, treatment or admission.
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Information is handled to professional confidentiality standards. We seek your consent before sharing with family members or professionals, except where there is serious risk to safety.
Can my family be involved in my care?
With consent, yes. Family involvement is often an important part of recovery, and we provide structured psychoeducation and support.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on the difficulty, the pathway and your progress. Expected duration and review points are set out in your treatment plan and discussed from the outset.
What are your fees and do you accept health insurance?
Fee schedules and accepted payment or insurance arrangements will be confirmed by our care coordination team. [To be supplied: fees, payment methods and insurance arrangements]
Do you provide emergency or crisis care?
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, seek emergency medical help without delay. For urgent clinical concerns during our operating hours, contact our care coordination team. [To be supplied: emergency and out-of-hours arrangements]
Can I be seen remotely?
Yes, through our telepsychiatry service, where clinically appropriate. Suitability is confirmed before your appointment; some presentations require in-person assessment.
